Vote Counter

Recognition is an important part of Toastmasters.  It is an encouragement to those who receive it, as well as to those who aspire it.  In light of this, each meeting we acknowledge those who have given the best performance in three categories: table topics, prepared speech, and evaluation.  As Vote Counter, you will be designating award winners of the day.

Before the meeting begins, make sure the three trophies are returned and are near you.  Obtain three blank award certificates from the box located at the back of the room.  The certificates should read:

  •           Best Table Topics Speech

  •           Best Speaker

  •           Best Evaluator

After Table Topics, the Toastmaster will ask everyone to vote and will request that you collect the ballots.  Be aware that not everyone chooses to vote.  Count the votes and complete the award by entering the winners name and the date on the certificate for Best Table Topics Speech.

The process will be repeated for the speakers and evaluators (the speech evaluators, General Evaluator, Ah Counter, and Grammarian are all eligible for this award).

You should not vote yourself, unless there is a tie.  In that case, vote to break the tie.

Near the end of the meeting, the Toastmaster will ask you to present the awards.  Rise and announce the awards as you present the certificate and trophy to the winner and shake their hand.
